Overview – 

Under general supervision, ensures the safety of guests of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities – 

  • Maintains constant surveillance of guests in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of guests in the event of emergency.
  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

IT Technician – Apply Now

Summary:

The Information Technology Technician’s role is to ensure proper computer operations so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks.  This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests.  Problem resolution may involve the use of approved diagnostics and help tools, as well as require that the individual give hands-on help at the desktop level. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in networking & hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Ability to listen to someone with a problem patiently and help solve it, using any resources available
  • Willingness to learn, branch out beyond typical I.T. responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with common Operating Systems (Windows 7 and Windows 10)
  • Some experience with Windows Server
  • Willingness to be on call some days
  • Willingness to work on the weekends
  • Experience with Mitel Phone System is a plus. 
  • Experience with Point of Sale and Property Management Systems such as Maestro and Silverware preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Set up workstations with POS systems and necessary peripherals (printers/scanners etc.)
  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Help ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide some guidance/training to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment as needed
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Assist the IT manager as needed with projects and troubleshooting
  • Some setup of audio/video equipment as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Consistently positive service attitude.
  • Friendly and outgoing.
  • Neat, well groomed appearance.
  • For front desk and office positions, STRONG computer skills are required.
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts, Sundays and holidays, and number of hours deemed necessary by the Resort.
  • Willing to work a variety of jobs on the Resort if necessary.
  • Willing to work a complete season, May – September.
  • Proof of identity and legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must be 15 years of age or older.
  • Willing to obtain a health certificate if necessary.

Appearance

  • Good personal hygiene and a clean/wholesome appearance is expected of all employees at all times. Visible tattoos and extremes in hairstyles, clothing, jewelry or makeup are not permitted. Men must have neatly groomed hair, cut above the collar and be cleanly shaven prior to coming on duty at the resort. Beards, goatees, excessive sideburns and new growth facial hair is not allowed for seasonal employees.
  • Neat and well groomed appearance at all times.

Uniforms

  • Employees are required to purchase Double JJ Staff uniforms.
  • You will need to provide your own khaki colored pants, blue jeans, shorts, and white or black shirts (either henley or oxford style). Uniform requirements may vary by department. Please check with your hiring manager.
  • All employees are responsible for care and cleaning of their uniforms (coin-operated washers/dryers are available).
  • No extreme hair colors or unnatural dying.
  • No body piercings allowed while working.
  • Minimal jewelry to be worn while working.
  • Tattoos must be covered up during work.
  • Uniforms must be worn during work hours.

Travel

  • Travel to the resort is at your own expense.
  • Double JJ is located approximately 200 miles from Chicago, Illinois & Detroit, Michigan.
  • Bus terminal: Muskegon, Michigan – 20 miles.
  • Airport pickup: Muskegon, Michigan – 20 miles.
  • Grand Rapids, Michigan – 60 miles.
  • Amtrack Train terminal: Holland, Michigan – 50 miles.

General Information

  • Climate – Summer daytime temperatures average 75 degrees with evening lows in the 60s, spring/fall usually much cooler. Winter daytime temperatures average 30 degrees with evening lows under 10 degrees. 
  • Clothes – sweaters and jackets generally needed; expect occasional rain. In the winter, expect snowfall.
